Taiye and Kennie at 25

Taiye and Kennie turned 25 a couple months ago. They decided to have a shindig and I was invited to come take pictures. I got to the venue early and was able help with some tasting; I was really helpful in making sure all the dishes were well seasoned.

It was also nice to see the OGs (Mama Zion and Mr Bespoke).

The party was fun and challenging. The DJ turned the lights off and just had the disco light on so I had to be creative in zero light.

Many more years to T and K. Hope they invite me to their next party and allow me to be their taster.

Enjoy the pictures.

Back to Texas!

My homeboy Isaac moved to the DC area from Texas around 3yrs ago. One of my earlier memories of him was seeing him back his F150 into a spot in Falls Church VA and him coming out with shades that have one of those elastic things around the back. I tell myself if I ever have to get a truck it has to be a chromed out F150.

Isaac is heading back to TX in a few days. This past weekend, the Potters threw him a going away bash. In our world, distance is insignificant; you can skype, there is face time...oh, Isaac is a blackberry guy. Anyways there is enough technology out there to keep us connected. In other words, its gonna be like he never left.

Here are some picture from the bash. Enjoy!

Georgetown!

I haven't been out shooting in a while. While on the bus sometime last week, I looked out and saw a laundromat. The idea of capturing life at a laundromat started blossoming. So today, I got my camera and headed out to find the laundromat. Lo and behold, it wasn't there anymore (don't ask). Since I was already out with my camera, I couldn't just go back home empty handed so I decided to make a 20min drive to Georgetown. I didn't have a plan; I just shot things I felt like shooting. On my way out, I stopped by ZPizza to get organic...yes, organic pizza. I am now looking for an organic memory card!

Here are some of the pix. Enjoy!

Sir K!

I was going through a bunch of old pictures when I say this. It felt like Sir K (Kayode) was about to poke my eye out. When I saw the picture the second time, it looked so real I thought it moved.

Here you go! I hope I am not the only weird one.

Owen goes to the Zoo!

Sometimes your schedule is really packed but you feel there is that one thing you still want to add to it. This shoot was like that. Gina had asked me to come along to the zoo with her and Owen (Jon and Emily's Owen). The weekend was one of my busiest in a long time but I still wanted to go along so we made it happen.
We got to the zoo around 1pm on the said Sunday, it was 70+ degrees and there were no parking spots available. By the time we found parking, we had approximately 1hr to explore the whole zoo.
At the end of the day, I told Gina I owed her a trip back to the zoo cause I felt I had rushed her. But when I got home, I found shots on my memory card I didn't even remember taking...I was pleasantly surprised!

So, this is to working in tight spaces.

Enjoy!

Funke and Tunde...Its official!

I have not updated my blog for a while now and it feels like a part of me is missing. Anyways, I was in Nigeria for two weeks to celebrate my sister and cousin's weddings. Both events went very well and I took lots and lots of pictures.

I was also going to take pictures of random people and places but I got stopped and harassed by the police because I looked "flashy" so I decided to be inconspicuous by keeping my camera at home.

Here are some pictures from Funke and Tunde's wedding. The pictures span a 4 day period.

Enjoy!
