Ben's Eye

So, I went out in yesterday's rain and cold to take some pictures. My brother was kind enough to come with me. I stopped every few feet to examine elements and see how I could incorporate them in my pictures. At a point, I was looking for puddles to catch Ben's or London eye's reflections...I bet I looked funny. All that aside, I really enjoyed my day out.

Another JEmOwen

So, as always, I had another amazing session with Jon, Emily and Owen (and Gina :)Emily's blog). The session was in Baltimore this time around. We first part at their house and then another at a nearby park.
I've been taking pictures of Owen since he was born and I am always amazed at how different he looks and how much he has grown. One of the interesting things about Owen was that he recognized the camera and smiled...Good for me!

I am ready for our next session...pictures in the snow?

Kennedy Center

So, I decided to go take some night time pictures in Georgetown DC a couple weeks ago. My original plan was to walk down M St and then snap away. I took a few pictures but nothing really got me. All of a sudden, I remembered seeing the Kennedy Center reflect off the Potomac. Walla! I went across the Potomac, took some pictures and smiled home.

Nav, Ang and Liam

So, it was Naveen and Angela's 5th wedding anniversary (I almost couldn't believe it). I still remember setting up speakers and mics for their wedding.
I had gone back and forth with Angela trying to organize a shoot. On this beautiful Sunday, we spoke and in the space of a couple hours, we set up a shoot.
Photos apart, I am glad to be part of Naveen and Angela's lives and their little super energetic Liam keeps all of us on our toes.
Hope you let me take pictures when you celebrate your 10th anniversary.

Happy Bday Zhaun!

So, it was Zhaun's bday a couple weeks ago. Apart from the fact that this was another opportunity for me to take as many pictures as possible, this was a time for me to count my blessings. Zhaun's parents moved to DC a couple of yrs ago. I see the family almost every week but it is hard to tell how much the kids are growing. I remember when all Zhaun could say was "Ka (car)"...He is now a big boy and it's a thing of joy to me. Many more yrs Zhaun! I'll be at your 21st bday party taking pictures and telling stories.

Glass Guy

So, I was in Old Town Alexandria a couple weknds ago. I parked around 2 miles from the waterfront. I had planned on taking the trolley but my timing was off so I got to walk all the way. How nice...taking pictures and working out!
Anyways, I saw this glass orchestra guy(older guy) playing motzart with wine glasses that were partially filled with distilled water. It sounded out of this world. The gentleman apparently was a guest on NBC's Johny Carson's late night show to show his skills. I wish I had my point and shoot to record audio.
Note to self: keep shooting...you don't know what u'll come accross.

Portraits

So, I had another super productive week at work and an exciting Friday. It was portraits day for me. I had made an appointment with my friend for some pictures. And earlier in the week, while on the train, I saw an ad about a display closing at the National Portrait Gallery in DC and I decided to go.
After taking the portraits, I did some other things and then took the metro to the portrait gallery. Best portrait at the gallery is probably the one of Jack Nicholson.

CONTRA-

So, I have been introspective for the past couple weeks and have been checking my life to see things that are holding me back. The first thing I decided to handle was laziness. Not laziness as in staying home all day without going to work or just being a bum but more of doing things when they are to be done and not putting them off for later.
I started off with work and decided to give it all I got and avoid all the unnecessary distractions e.g. facebook. I was so determined that the first thing that came to mind when I woke up was I was not allowed to be lazy. Interestingly enough, the week I worked the hardest was the week I was also able to get a lot done in terms of photography. I went shooting at a Jazz club, skate park and Old Town Alexandria. Removing all these elements that CONTRA-dict what I want to stand for is definitely the way to go.
